Block Video Autoplay in Chrome - Disable HTML5 Autoplay

There are many sites that autoplay videos including Facebook amongst the more popular ones but there are also other sites that do this and for some of us this can be a little annoying.

If you want to block videos from autoplaying then the Disable HTML5 Autoplay Chrome extension is exactly what you need. Once installed it sits in your extension toolbar and blocks any video from playing automatically on webpages. If there are sites you want videos to autoplay then you can simply click on the icon in your toolbar and select Disable Nothing when you are on that site and it will stop blocking autoplay on that site.

In addition to removing the HTML autoplay attribute from media elements, Disable HTML5 Autoplay also hooks into the media's JavaScript API. This allows for restrictions on media control and simulation of expected behaviour to ensure that all pages behave normally.
